Tatiana Kolganova (RU/NL)

Tatiana Kolganova is an artist who works in the region between art and science. Her practice embraces the interest in sensory and physical sensations on one hand and the role of a concept and language on the other. The intersection of these two directions evolved into her research practice that focuses on the human-nature relationship. The artist works with a variety of media including performance, installation, text and sound.

Tatiana studied ArtScience (BA) at The Royal Academy of Art, The Hague where she learned different ways to combine art and science approaches on the practical and conceptual levels of her work. Later she earned her master degree at the Fine Art and Design program at the HKU University of the Arts, Utrecht where she focused on the ontological, epistemological, and methodological aspects of artistic research.

Her current research seeks to speculate on the communication that occurs at the fundamental level of our universe. Tatiana is inspired by insights from Quantum theory and experiments with the possible translations of the principles of micro reality to the sensory reality of humans. One of the projects within this research is a micro-sound live performance 'Simple-Intricate' that invites the public to experience and imagine subtle interactions that inhabit the world beyond the daily perceptions of humans.
