Arago’s wheel is an experimental music performance combining self made electromagnetic instruments and recycled vinyl. It’s a collaboration between Dj Urine and Dewi de Vree. For the Wonderwerp series Arago’s Wheel will be featuring Matteo Marangoni on inflated latex membranes and other mundane materials.
Dj Urine is a musician, producer and sound sculptor from Paris. Instead of cutting and pasting snippets of audio together on a laptop, Mr Urine (french anagram for Ruine, Nuire & Réuni) reaches for the superglue and creates literal sound collages from fragments of vinyl records.
Dewi de Vree is a sound artist from The Hague. She works at the intersection of art and science and makes instruments, installations and performances based on the sensual experience of physical experiments. Her self-made electronics make perceivable invisible phenomena which are a part of everyday experience.
Matteo Marangoni is a DIY enthusiast that operates at the margins of various artistic disciplines. His practice investigates the perception of space and the subject-object dichotomy through processes that articulate the real within idiosyncratic rituals.
